ON THE ROAD WITH US – DOMINIKA'S EXPERIENCES - FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF A TRUE FREQUENT TRAVELER - Dharmaral Adventure

Another journey, another story – and an old friend.

One of the greatest gifts of communal travel is that we also get to meet fantastic people. Dominika participated in one of the first camps, and since then, she has not only traveled the world with us but has also become a pivotal figure in our lives. We are sure that if she comes, the camp atmosphere will be guaranteed to be lighthearted.

Read Dominika's story and insights – through the eyes of a true tribal traveler.

If a close friend had to introduce you, what do you think they would say about you? How do these journeys affect your personal growth? My friends would surely say that I am someone they can always count on (I can confirm this, Dominika is someone you can always count on)

That I am not the loudest in the company, but when I speak, it usually leads to laughter. Attention is important to me; I am genuinely interested in how others are doing, I don't just ask out of politeness.

They were surprised too when I embarked on such a journey alone, with complete strangers, and even tried surfing, even though I didn't even like my hair getting wet before. I've always been independent and loved to travel, but it wasn't always easy to arrange that with my friends.

I think these experiences also helped me find my way and myself better, and in the process, friendships were born that have remained in my everyday life ever since.

What was the first trip you took with us, and why did you sign up for this camp? My first trip with you was the Lake Garda retreat in spring 2024. I arrived with great excitement, as we didn't know each other yet, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I chose this camp because the location really captivated me, and when I read the website and blog posts, I felt that your approach spoke to me. I was looking to break free from the gray, demanding weekdays, and this was fully realized. In addition, the self-discovery aspect also greatly attracted me, and even in the first camp, it gave me a lot, through conversations and shared experiences.

Since then, I have participated in several trips with you: I've been to Greece twice, Tuscany, Sri Lanka, and Bali. As a returning traveler, these trips always bring the same to me: connection, rejuvenation, and the feeling that for a while, you can truly let everything go.

Which trip was the most significant for you and why? The most significant for me was the Bali camp. It had been on my bucket list for a long time, and honestly, I never thought I would get there, especially not with such a great team, who I can now call my friends.

I had never been to Indonesia before, so I immersed myself in its, for me then unknown, culture with great openness and curiosity.

I would definitely highlight Sri Lanka as well: that was also a wonderful trip where I met several familiar faces, so I essentially went there feeling like I was "traveling with friends".

In both places, it also helped that you knew these cultures well, so I not only gained experiences but also a deeper insight, for example, into the world of Buddhism.

You have been on organized trips with others and with us. Do you remember if you felt fear before your first trip, and do you still feel it when you sign up for a new journey?

Previously, I participated in other organized camps, and I always started with a little fear. I went alone, I didn't know what kind of team would form, what the organizers would be like, or what it would be like to live with a stranger for 1-2 weeks.

These journeys helped me a lot to be more open to new people.

Today I almost only travel with you, because I know that a good atmosphere always develops, and there are often returning passengers with whom it is a pleasure to meet again.

Why do you choose community travel, and what do you think is the biggest advantage of organized travel? I choose organized, community travel because it takes the burden of organization off my shoulders, which for me is one of the biggest advantages.

In addition, it is important that the camp leaders are practically "regulars" at these places, so I can confidently entrust myself to them and fully immerse myself in the experiences.

Since you've been participating in these trips, is there anything you do differently now, or anything you see in your life with different eyes thanks to them? Since then, I look at everyday life with slightly different eyes, I experience them more consciously. These trips also started an inner journey of development, where I pay more attention to myself and what truly recharges me.

In your opinion, how do these trips affect your mental state, and what is the biggest change you feel in yourself? These trips have a very positive effect on my mental state, they provide genuine rejuvenation. Perhaps the biggest change I feel is how I relate to myself; I have become more patient and accepting of myself. I can more easily let go of everyday stress and be more present, which helps a lot in my daily life too.

How does a perfect trip look to you, and what makes a camp truly good? For me, the location is important for a perfect trip, but perhaps the environment is even more decisive. The attitude of the camp leaders and the personalities of the participants greatly influence the experience.

So far, a very good team has always come together, with open-minded people from whom much can be learned. This is what makes the atmosphere truly special, when not only the place but also the connections make the journey memorable.

Who would you recommend community travel to, and what would you say to someone who is currently considering traveling with us?

I recommend it to anyone who is open to the world, to meeting new people, and who is curious about yoga or Buddhism. And of course, to those who simply love to travel. To anyone thinking about it now, I would say: it's worth diving in. You don't need to prepare for anything or live up to expectations, just arrive with an open mind, and the rest will fall into place along the way.

Is there an upcoming trip you're thinking about, what bucket list destination or experience most appeals to you now? There's always a camp that piques my interest because you're constantly organizing trips to exciting places. It's hard to resist new destinations, but even places I've visited multiple times, like Greece – I'll go back for a third time, knowing what to expect when I travel with you, and I haven't been disappointed yet.

I have often said that one of the best things that ever happened in my life was finding Dharma (and Reni).

What truly makes our trips special for me is that there are always returnees – people we already know. This makes the whole atmosphere much more direct and relaxed, as if you were entering a familiar space from the very first moment.

For me, who follows these stories, it's particularly touching to see how much someone develops, be it in yoga or through self-discovery processes. Dominika is a living example of this for me, as she has developed incredibly much in both areas thanks to her diligence, and I am endlessly grateful for our friendship.

I am sure that you can personally meet him on one of our trips if you join us, definitely in Greece.
