In the last few days I have been swimming more than surfing! But there is such a thing.
Especially when you are called by bigger and bigger waves, you have to go.
In Canguu there have been huge waves in the last few days before low tide. On the foliage too.
I had a 2-3 meter wave coming towards me. Not one! It was 5-6 in a row.
While I was waiting for my wave before low tide I had time to study how many YouTube videos are on the internet about how to avoid the wave in the impact zone.
There are so many surf schools, so many different types of teaching.
There are good ones!
But for beginners and advanced divers, a duck dive, for example, is a huge stress factor!
In the course of my research I realized that my method here is also Pranayama!!🧘🏻♀️
If I don't take the wave, I simply
✔️hagyom I jump the plank into the water,
✔️felkészítem myself to the wave coming towards me,
✔️nagy I take a breath and dive into the water a few metres before "impact".
✔️ Listening to my breath in myself.
✔️ I let my body relax completely.
✔️ I shut out all external factors and let my body resurface in a few seconds. I don't panic.
✔️ I'm back at the centre.
✔️ I'm going to take a deep belly breath and wait for the next wave to be mine!
Believe it or not, it's the Pranayama before "take off" that helps you stay balanced and on the wave! 🧘🏻♀️🏄🏻♀️
The breath, the focus, the centre!
If you control the prana, you are here and now.
In your centre! 🙏🏻
For me, surfing is not without yoga!
